So offering age-appropriate care is the best way for us to be able to deliver a well-rounded treatment to a patient. We can deliver care all the way from birth of a child to the time that they are able to graduate from our office as a adult, or whenever they feel comfortable. Seeing a pediatric dentist, we are specialists.
We are specialized to see different angles of a child developmentally, at different milestones of their growth. So if we are able to detect anything, even before a general dentist would be able to see it, it would help in the treatment of this patient. When it comes to any sort of conditions, that would be something that they would benefit in early treatment from.
- Catch and treat oral problems early on
- Prevent the need for extensive dental work
- Lessen the risk of dental emergencies
- Instill good oral hygiene habits in your child
- Set your child up for a lifetime of healthy smiles
Call us today at 774-225-0618 to schedule appointments for your kids. We open at 8:30 a.m. four days a week, stay open until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, and even have Saturday hours available! Be sure to ask us for details on our Dental Membership Plan, too.
Bring Your Child to See Us Twice a Year
Getting your child started early on a good dental regimen is crucial to helping them maintain optimal oral health and a beautiful smile. When your child visits our practice, our team will help set them at ease and alleviate any anxiety they have about being at a dentist office. We’ll go at their speed, being careful to explain exactly what we’re doing so they know just what to expect.Doctor Grace Hannawi on Your Child's First Dental Visit Read Transcript
So we want to make this dental visit as comfortable as possible for both patient and the parents. From the parent's perspective, this appointment would be all about education, education, about oral hygiene, about what to expect as this child is developing. And so that way – and to anticipate anything that might happen in between visits, so that way, they are not concerned about any weird abnormalities or anything like that. So that's the education perspective and being able to care the best for their child as they get older because there are certain challenges to what their parents are able to do at home. It's not easy being a parent, and on top of the regular day-to-day care of this child, adding oral care and oral hygiene can be very challenging, especially for parents that have kids that need special needs and special attention. For that visit, that is a lot of what we discuss.
Now, as far as the child goes, this first dental visit is all about getting comfortable in the chair, not about forcing them to do anything that they're not comfortable with, especially at the first visit. It's a lot of education, showing them that our instruments are not there to cause any harm but to make them comfortable and provide them with the best, most comprehensive care.
We recommend scheduling a routine dental cleaning and exam every six months for your child. Doing so will:
- Help us keep an eye on their developing teeth
- Provide any necessary treatment to prevent bigger problems
- Allow us to recommend preventive care such as fluoride treatment
- Help your child avoid cavities and maintain healthy, strong teeth
We even have an orthodontist on staff, Dr. Yuhe Lu. If it looks like your child could benefit from orthodontic care, she can provide treatment using either traditional metal braces or Invisalign clear teeth aligners.
No matter what kind of dental care your child needs, our Attleboro pediatric dentistry can help. Call us today to schedule an appointment for your child: 774-225-0618.
